About

Meet Weeven

Hi, I'm Stephen Yoon and I am an artist working in digital and traditional mediums. Weeven Woon is a nickname referencing Spongebob that my friends gave me when I got my first job in high school it and has stuck ever since.

I graduated with a BA in Fine Art wanting to express visual ideas earnestly and effectively, unrestricted by a purely commercial design methodology or overly-pretentious contemporary art framework.

I am a 5th-generation Korean American artist that is originally from southern California. I have been studying drawing and painting for over 15 years. I am currently based in New York City after relocating to work as an illustrator for a feature-length animated documentary.

Studio Weeven is an honest attempt to integrate a branded experience with artistic inspiration.

My objective is to craft elegant, story-rich artworks and objects that combine Japanese and Korean-inspired cultural motifs with Art Nouveau design, offering a moment of beauty and reflection in the everyday.
