“Spring" Original Art Nouveau inspired print

This print is one of a four-piece series representing the seasons, inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e (woodblock print) and Post-Impressionism. 

“Spring” celebrates the mundane by depicting showering in with trickling streams of water, lush aquatic greenery, and a classically rendered figure.

This piece was inspired by a beautiful nymphaeum I stumbled across at the Pantheon in Rome. Amongst the vast history and architecture of Ancient Rome, I found this fountain to be a breath of life as it was functioning and had fish and birds enjoying its refreshing atmosphere.  Nymphaeum are Roman fountains adorned with plants and sculpture as a place of rest; they are named after the nymphs that are said to rest there in Greco-Roman mythology.

Printed on premium 110lb cardstock with a soft, lightly textured finish, it captures the richness of detail and color beautifully.
